“A Life Sketch of My Father”
“A laborious soul is sure to shine and who
shines is sure to enjoy the juice of life to the last drop.” -(Alamgir)
This very saying
is reflected time and again in a man, Nurul Alam Sikder- born in a middle class
family in Fatikchari in Chittagong at 22nd, 1952- who commencing his
life as a student has had an excellent make-up through diligence, perseverance
and steadfast will power. In his student life he, though a house tutor there by
supporting his educational expenses, accomplished his B.A degree from noted
Nazirhat Collage in Fatikchari. He is a man who can smile even in a sea of woes
thus overcoming any peril he faces and the very essence of his character is a
proper blend of some rare qualities, viz honesty, sincerity, punctuality,
modesty and above all jollity, which enable him to reach the golden peak of
fortune.
Being
prone to hard labor, he has become a distinguished figure both as an exporter
of garment’s goods as well as an importer of motor parts. He, by virtue of his
worth, is now the president of Motor Parts Business Association where he is
second to none; president of Lion’s Club in Chittagong where he is
unsurpassed; and a dynamic member of Bangladesh Garment’s Association where he
is an apple of all eyes.
Nay, he- a man of words
and actions- is a born social reformer and a patron of schooling, which leads
him to the apex of the society he lives.
In his busy life he, as
a settled businessman and a pleasure- seeking person, flies to many lands
including Pakistan, India, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong,
London, Arab emirates, Oman, Nepal and Saudi Arabia which enrich his mind with
diverse feelings and experiences.
He, now, has had five
offspring to whom he is so loving as a father.
Nothing
but his incessant endeavor widens the door to success in his life, which will
be a perpetual model for me to follow. I am miles proud of my father who, to
me, is much more than a piece of pearl. I wish every success of him in the
coming year.
